Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was a milestone in literature. In a time when electricity was a hand generated source of energy, this novel showed the works of a madman bringing dead bodies to life. Now I have not read the original book, so I would not know what exactly transpires Victor Frankenstein to create the monster, but this show surely compels me to give it a go.
Starring Sean Bean, all TV and movie buffs surely know what his fate would be in the last episode, and TFC is no exception. But there sure is a twist to watch out for, in the end. Set in early 1800s, the show follows John Marlott's journey of uncovering a conspiracy that transcends politics, science, religion and basic humanity. A madman is kidnapping children off the streets, and sewing different pieces of their bodies to create a 'thing', which resembles a lot like Frankenstein's monster.
Things get interesting when the author of the same book, Mary Shelley played by Anna Maxwell Martin is a suspect of the murders. John Marlott is out to find one such kid, Alice. What transpires take him to a every nook and cranny f the darkness that is consuming humanity. Notable performance by Richie Campbell in his role as Marlott's sidekick, Nightingale.
If you are short on time and want to see something different than a regular crime fiction/drama, TFC is your best candidate. 6 episodes, each being 45 minutes in length, it is also the perfect companion to spend a weekend binge watching. I have deliberately left out mentioning the crew behind the series, as the storyline itself compels you to watch it.
Who is committing these murders? Why children? And what role does politics play in this entire affair? You may find your answers when you watch it, or it may just raise more questions.
Be as it may, TFC is another classic Sean Bean show and a must watch for all. Let me know your feedback on the review and the show. Also, let me know if you want me to review any other shows and I will.
See you on the morrow, my good lads and fair ladies!
